Hart of Dixie: Why So Topsy-Turvy?

The CW Series, Hart of Dixie is reaching its second season's end with it's final episode airing next week.

Many reactions, mostly negative, were garnered by its 21st episode entitled "I'm Moving On." Now please allow  me to say my thoughts on those different thoughts...

A big "debate" is being thrown on the episode title: "I'm Moving On" Why would you name an episode as such when the episode ends with the lead character, Zoe Hart, going back and having sex with her ex-boyfriend, Wade Kinsela, at the end of the episode?!? Some assume the title to be ironic, while others just plain don't see the point. As for me, the title is Zoe's mantra to herself: "I'm moving on!" For one, she did throw her little self into the waters of an online dating site (which turned out to be Meatball's little Lagoon), that didn't quite turn out as she planned it to, as what always happens with Zoe's so well-sorted-out-action-plans. And second, she did throw herself [again] into the arms of Max's dad, thinking that he was into her, which we all know also didn't turn out as planned. I guess what I'm trying to say is, she tried to fulfill her mantra of trying to move on. Not because the title says so, means that it'll happen. I mean c'mon! Do we really expect Zoe to move on after just one episode? Her characters has so much layers for just one night. That's why, for me, I don't see anything wrong with the title. I guess some people only see it as so because they were expecting Zoe to find someone or some way to move on, as what the title per se, suggests, but I don't blame those people for falling into that cinematic move from the producers of the show.

Moving on...

Others feel like Hart of Dixie is losing its spark, to the point that it can no longer redeem itself even with a third season. What do I say about this? "Nah-a! The series isn't looking it's spark." I for one, was hooked with the series because of its crazy unpredictability. For those people who consider Hart of Dixie as a should-be-fairy-tale-kind-of-a-show, I think you're barking at the wrong tree. Hart of Dixie isn't your modern day Cinderella, or Snow White and definitely not your Sleeping Beauty. I mean, Zoe isn't your Disney Princess kinda gal. She's more of an over-the -place-crazy-but-in-a-cute-and-crazy-way kind. Yes, she doesn't know what she wants, she loses herself all in the wrong way most of the time, and she cares too much that she becomes overly paranoid... But with every episode  I can see her character growing with her tiny little baby steps, but yes, she still does stumble, that's why she's Zoe Hart!

And...

YES! The love triangles are CRAAAAAZY! But let's admit it, we go crazy over those crazy team ups. The way I see it, the characters (Wade, Zoe, George) are simply trapped in their bubbles of denial. Wade denying to himself that he can be a  faithful, responsible and trust-worthy man, which becomes his defense mechanism from his feeling for our overly dramatic and crazy Dr. Zoe Hart. George, denying to himself that he still has feelings for Zoe and trying to make himself believe that Tanzy is all that he will ever need. I mean, you honestly didn't see their breakup coming? It was clear from the start to me, so what happened in the 21st episode didn't really come as a shock (I'm sorry for all the George/Tanzy fans out there). And Zoe, she's practically in denial and regretful about most of the things, that is what brought her to Bluebell in the first place - she wanted something so bad, that she ended up gaining all she didn't planned and losing those she wanted to keep.

It is a crazy series, but it's the good kind of crazy. I like the fact that it leaves me hanging most of the time coz it makes me want to crave for it more. And as long as there won't be too much new characters in the story, I think I'd still be hooked with their third season, and I still would be waiting for Zoe and Wade to get back together. I just can't help it, I love their blend.

So for all those who don't like the way that the series is unveiling, that's pretty much okay coz we all stop liking our favorite stuff every once in a while, but for all those who are still enjoying the series.. let's just all enjoy the ride. :)
